Charity Events in Oswestry are obviously of great interest to the Oswestry Business and Music Community. The Music Community frequently takes part in such events, and the Business Community very often sponsors charity events and so any charity organisatiosn in this are, be it Oswestry, Welshpool, Shrewsbury or anywhere in between is welcome to announce events and place a link in this blog to gain more publicity, more participation and more support.

You and your family are invited to be a part of an... You and your family are invited to be a part of an inspirational community event that is taking place in Oswestry this July.
The community event is all about coming together to celebrate survival of cancer, pay tribute to those touched by cancer and raise money for the vital work of Cancer Research UK.
It is twenty four hours of fun, friendship and fundraising to beat cancer.
Relay For Life Oswestry, is going to be held at Oswestry Showground from 2pm July 7th 2007, and will run through until 12pm 8th July 2007. Every Relay For Life runs overnight and includes a Survivors Lap of Honour and a tribute to those lost through cancer in a moving Candle of Hope Ceremony. A poignant reminder of why we are all working together to beat cancer.
Teams of people gather at race tracks, parks or sports fields and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one member on the track at all times, whilst all around them a party is in full swing, including stalls, live music, quizzes and dancing.
Relay For Life is 24 hours of fun, everyone is welcome, and there are many ways to get involved.

• Dedicate a Candle of Hope in memory of a loved one
• Participate as a Cancer Survivor in the Survivors' Lap of Honour
• Attend your local Relay For Life
• Join your local Relay Committee and help to organise the event
