Geno Washington & The Ram Jam Band
Always ready to rock the house, the King of the swingers is the incarnation of all things sixties. Hipsters and Flipsters, movers and shakers alike, are all rendered incapable of having a bad time, when the Good Times Guru gets his army fans on the good foot! The old Geno magic still drags 'em in and sends them home high!
With his irrepressible showmanship and professionalism Geno will be knocking audiences dead for years to come. His super-tight band is one of the hardest working outfits in the country. It's not all Old Skool though, Geno has recently recorded with Adamski and Big Dog (ex Black Grape).
Geno Washington & The Ram Jam Band had two of the biggest selling UK albums of the sixties. Amazingly both of these were live albums. Hand Clappin, Foot Stompin, Funky Butt Live was in the album charts for 48 weeks of the year 1996 and was only outsold by 'The Sound of Music' and 'Bridge Over Troubled Water'.
Everyone loves Geno, he’s the real deal. Dexy’s Midnight Runners even wrote the eighties hit Oh Geno! about him! His band is bold, brassy and rather funky and this original sixties soul man generates an amazing buzz. He’s a legendary live performer, a truly great front man who really understands how to get a place rocking.
Don’t miss a great night of high energy blues & soul!!
Supported by ‘Smoke Like a Fish’ with an up tempo two-toned Ska-popunkish attack, Smoke like a Fish from Mid Wales relentlessly pump the off beat with groove and aggression, behind brass splattered riffs, catchy choruses and social comment.

Shrewsbury Music Event - Eddie and the Hot Rods
Remember the hit single 'Do Anything You Wanna Do' by Eddie & The Hot Rods? you do? great!
Legendary 70's rockers 'EDDIE & THE HOT RODS' will be playing at Worthen Village Hall near Shrewsbury on Saturday May 16th. The venue has played host to other legendary names in the past such as Lindisfarne, Dr. Feelgood & Ian Hunter from Mott the Hoople to name a few.
Eddie and the Hot Rods began life in 1976, when four teenagers from Southend on Sea got together, and playing their own style of fast energetic rock'n'roll/r'n'b, were soon a big hit on the London pub scene. Catching the eyes and ears of the music press and the major record companies, they were soon signed up by the legendary Island Records and went on to have three hit albums and four Top 40 UK singles including the Top 10 hit 'Do Anything You Wanna Do'. There have been numerous TV appearances worldwide and they have filled almost every major venue in the UK. A success in the USA too, they have toured alongside The Ramones, Tom Petty, The Police, Squeeze and Talking Heads.
Radio 2 DJ Mark Radcliffe recently described 'Do Anything You Wanna Do' as one of 'the' feelgood anthems of all times so dont miss your chance to see & hear it live.
They will be supported by local band 'Hot Rod 55', and with influences from Gene Vincent and Jerry Lee Lewis to Brian Setzer and The Stray Cats, this powerhouse four piece whip up a storm with their dynamite delivery of some of the greatest rock and roll and rockabilly numbers ever to grace the planet.
The '55's' have appeared regularly at the world famous Ronnie Scotts, and are currently in big demand on the biker scene, “think of the best rockabilly band you ever saw, then double the talent and inject the sort of style that makes them a class act – these boys are rock and roll for the 21st Century!”
Our prevoius events have sold out so we urge people not to leave it until the last minute to book tickets! Tickets are now on sale from various outlets in Shropshire & Mid-Wales including online, advance tickets priced at £12 are selling fast, if there are any left they will be priced at £15 on the night so take advantage of the discount while you can!.

Songwriting Workshop, Llanfyllin, Powys

The Beehouse Recording Studio offers an individually tailored songwriting workshop in Llanfyllin, near Welshpool in Powys. The day is five hours and takes the participant from arrival in the studio through song arrangement, recording of the basic parts, editing, music production to the cutting of the master version. At the Beehouse we work with all sorts of individuals, many who have no musical experience. We take as little as a hummed melody, and help you to convert it, working closely with you for matters of harmony, tempo and style, into a fully fledged commercial track. this unique songwriting service costs £199.75 and invariably is an exciting, amusing and fulfilling day for the participant.
The Songwriting Experience is geared for a single participant, however, we also offer this service to a number of participants as a corporate team building exercise, resulting in a company song - or another type of recording. Costs in this case are identical for up to five participants, and £250 for up to ten.
The day takes place at the studio generally, set in its unique stunning valley location three miles outside Llanfyllin, and twenty minutes from Welshpool. The team building exercise can also be carried out elsewhere, by arrangement with the studio.
